Here are some of my favorite *beginner* songs to play. I used multiple sources online to understand the core song, then made some minor changes to make it easier to read and play.
I use D for down, U for up and X for chuck to describe the strum pattern for each section of the song. If there are different strum patterns in one section, it's noted at the top of the section.
For example, the island strum that is used in many songs would be shown as [D DU UDU] or "down, down-up, up-down-up."
