Making apple cider.

This morning we met at my uncle's house to make apple cider using his rebuilt apple press.


Every fall when I was a kid, our family would go to my grandpa's house and use the very same press to make fresh apple cider. Nowadays, my uncle keeps the press and uses his 1954 Farmall tractor to do all the hard work of crushing the apples into pieces (the part everyone used to dread because of the labor involved). Genius!


We made 9 gallons of cider in about an hour and no sore arms from turning the crusher! Now pass the Captain Morgan's...
